Mixed Use Development- Central London WC1

Planning permission was granted for residential and commercial use: Ground and basement level is given over to an A3 unit. An external stairwell/ light well gives access, light and ventilation to the basement from the street. The upper floors consist of two contemporary private apartments.
The scheme included a  subterranean rear extension and 1st floor level rear extension incorporating a roof terrace.

The original early 18th century building was demolished as part of the works. However great care was taken in the design and detailing of the street elevation, reinstating this element as a facsimile of the original.

In contrast a contemporary shop front design addresses the passer by at street level.
